One child was strapped onto my back as the other crawled in the playground. I spent 12 hours days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all with one child. Ha! All was starting to form, but it wasn't quite finished. It would take the time, energy, as well as my personal favorite for furniture to decorate this home. To keep within the budget, I started taking my kids to estate sales looking for of diamonds. It was a weekly tradition that we would walk through estate sales and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. I then spent my weekdays painting and sanding on our front lawn. What I saw looked something like... This is when my desire to repair furniture began. No matter what, the home was equipped. There was an area on the market in town in which I sold my pieces. I was able to outgrow the area because I had many more pieces than I needed. More than 1000 people came to my house in one weekend to purchase everything on the ground floor. My company Growing Days began here. The business wasn't just flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood as well as starting my own company. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my fourth child was born in the year 2013. I loved where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I decided to put off building my old furniture for a while and spend time with my kids. It was just what I required. After a few months that the phones started to ring. People contacted me asking to help them with the interior design and renovations of their home. It was mostly those who came to my open home to purchase furniture. Then I slowly took on more clients, at my own speed. Then I was able to have many customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. If you'd predicted that this venture of mine could become the basis of a television show for the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. If I think back, it still makes me giggle.
